My Story

My experience is diverse. Through all my roles, I've realized that success hinges on the ability to invest in both the things and the people that most influence your life.

Since my teen years, I've held roles in leadership, whether in school, sports, church or community. I was selected as Arizona's Distinguished Young Woman of 1997, graduated Cum Laude from Utah State, and currently own and manage multiple businesses, along with being an adjunct professor at Utah Valley University. My most substantial qualifier, however, may be motherhood.

I am passionate about potential. As a Certified Team Performance Coach, I shine the light on that potential by focusing on the principles that take individuals and teams from the bench to the starting lineup.

As the only daughter of a prominent player for the National Football League, Dallas Cowboys quarterback, Danny White, the affiliation with "America's Team" left me well-schooled in presentation and composure under scrutiny. I also learned to hold my own with three brothers who did their best to rough my edges. Read about it in our book!

If you have a group that needs motivation on leadership development or teamwork, my presentations are designed to inspire your audience members to become Starters.

One last thing. I care deeply about faith-based events and occasionally speak pro-bono. If you have a gathering under this niche, I'd love to speak to your group about how faith is the foundation for starting!

I don’t have a lot of “favorites” and I think that’s just fine. Color? Food? Vacation? I have no idea. But we’re meant to change so I think it’s totally okay to not have favorites!!

That said my favorite book is “A Tale of Two Cities.”

And my favorite car has legs 🐴🤠

I love the outdoors. It’s near impossible to have an experience in nature without learning some life lessons! #goteam

All my life I’ve been asked what it was like having the father I did. And all my life I’ve been collecting evidence.

He took me camping.
Taught me to fish and to change a tire.

Gave me hugs and kisses.
Passed on his love of God.
Taught me how to grow things and people.
Inspired me.

Built me up when I needed it.
Cut me down when I needed it.
Taught me about plants and birds, spotlights and shadows, about true love and forgiveness.

Showed me what to look for in a man.

And about a million other awesome things.

So yeah, go right ahead and be jealous of me having a cool dad. Cuz fatherhood has nothing to do with football. And he did it right.

And I still throw like a girl anyway.

I own a catering company. And I love it.

(To be clear, Kel and team do 90% of the work.)

But last week we needed extra hands, so I attended an event as The Caterer. Some speaker colleagues were there, and I heard,

“Oh I thought you were here to present—didn’t realize you were just the caterer.”

Truly, no harm. I get the stigma. And I smiled politely as we do.

But for the record, here’s what I love most about this business:

Kelly and I grew it together.

The work is grueling—we must adapt and overcome obstacles daily. 👊

Our kids have learned to work here—to get up early, work hard, be a part of a team, and my favorite…to show generosity and respect to customers, even when some don’t show it in return.

It’s a special perspective watching how people of all titles and statuses treat “just the caterers.” Mostly very good, I’m happy to report. But the view from this side of the table is remarkably telling when it comes to human behavior.

So thanks to all those who treat our crews with the respect they deserve. Thanks for seeing us.

Because honestly...we love it.

Col. Derek Oaks, USAF invited me to his podcast table after reading something he questioned in my book.

1. I LOVE that he did that!! This is productive communication, y’all!

2. My phrase in question, “confidence is overrated.”

I have to stand by it. First, because I spent a lot of money printing and publishing it 😅 but two, because I absolutely believe it!!

In the end, we did come to an agreement. Confidence has value for sure, but there are more productive ways to focus your energy than chasing something you can’t control.

I’ve always thought night owls have more fun. Guys, I’m tapped by 9:30p most nights 😂

But as soon as that sun is up—my game is ON!

How much does your morning/evening energy affect your productivity?

Actually, that’s the wrong question. We all get the same 24. HOW we use it matters more than WHEN we use it.

It’s a beautiful day for sacred places and people 💗

Reps are critical. In any area of expertise, up-leveling only happens with continued repetition.

But sometimes we miss a key element.

In my presentation yesterday I asked who had a Duolingo streak. One person was in the hundreds. Someone KNEW a guy in the 700’s.

No one came close to my 1419 day streak 😎 How bout those reps?! But with over 1400 French practicing reps, guess how fluent I am.

Not. At. All.

Because I’m missing something critical—a coach. Practice is most effective with guidance.

Across industries, individuals acquire skills three times faster when led by an expert.

So continue the reps, but add a mentor, advisor, or coach to your regime and watch that productivity soar! #goteam #forstarters

I’ve been doing a thing. I’ve been coaching at the jail. Haven’t been too forthcoming about it because I wasn’t sure how I’d feel. The jury is in.

I. Love. It.

With limited resources, there’s little room for distraction and all the space for clarity.

They know what they value. They know what it’s like to miss the mark. They’re focused, sincere, non-judgmental, and ready to act.

Who knew concrete cell walls could be a birthplace For Starters? Not me. Until now.

Is there room for improvement even at your peak?

YOU BET!

Here were three questions top-tier teams identified to maintain the top of their game:

🟡 What changes are coming and how can we prepare?

🟢 What challenges can we embrace to move the needle even further?

🔴 How can we 1️⃣ eliminate drag or 2️⃣ redistribute energy to create balance and sustainability?

At the Build the Bless Conference last week I heard this phrase from gymnast Ana Padurariu and it stuck with me.

Do you find your mood subject to your circumstances? I’ve always thought this was a sign of low EQ but I see where she’s going here. If “identity is the bedrock of your impact” (Principle 2 For Starters) then identity should be the foundation of your joy.

I’m mulling this over and would love your insights!

Thrive 2026 Conference was everything I wanted it to be! Not only did I spend quality time with impactful leaders, I gained insights as a speaker, established challenges for myself, grew my business, and fell in love with a new city!

Deep thoughts on trauma—😬

Everyone experiences it and yet everyone responds to it differently. The two extremes people take are:

1️⃣ over-acknowledging
2️⃣ under-acknowledging

Both extremes are terribly unproductive.

A defining characteristic of Starters is humility. They make an impact because the impact is where their focus is. It’s not on themselves.

This means they know when to shut up 🤐

Many difference-makers are high performers and they are aware of it. But often leaders talk too dang much, and don’t realize when the time isn’t theirs.

Not Starters. Starters see the room, the objectives, the team. They see where people stand, and when the time belongs to someone else, they step aside. It’s not all about them.

Be a Starter!!
